Well, as I type this, we are 9 hours away from the arrival of the girls! They are going to come to our hotel in Nanchang, and we will meet them in a conference room on the first floor of the hotel. Needless to say, the excitement was in the air for all of us last night! They will come to our hotel at 4:00PM local time, Wednesday, January 3rd.
It is currently 6:46AM while I write this, and my computer shows that it is 2:46PM yesterday afternoon back home in Vancouver. It is currently cold and rainy here in Nanchang, which helps us feel right at home!
We went on a shopping trip yesterday to the Wal-Mart (I know, for shame!). If you think you've seen a busy Wal-Mart in the U.S., you haven't seen anything! We were even told by our guide that what we saw was the typical day at that Wal-Mart. They had 75 checkstands! It was crazy. I'm sure we'll be going to that store again before we leave for Guangzhou.
Well, hopefully we'll be able to post some pictures of us with Sydney tonight!
By the way, we were able to update all the pictures we meant to post from the past three entries. Also, thank you to those of you who have been commenting on our blog - it is very nice to hear from friendly, supportive voices back home! And the rest of you, it is okay to post comments, you know...

I've been thinking about you today. You're 13 hours ahead of us. I keep looking at my watch and figuring out what you were doing. At lunch today (3AM your local time) I was wondering if you were sleeping or not.
I think Mom has started crying already.
No, I'm NOT crying---YET!!!
You can bet I'm checking this blog every few hours-----love the new pix; and am waiting for the arrival of Sydney!!!
THEN I will cry!! (tears of happiness )
Love you guys!!

Chuck E (our cat) turned 14 on new years eve. To celebrate I gave him some ham. He threw it up. Happy birthday, Chuck!
Grammy is going to stay up late tonight and wait to see Sydney!!
Give her a hug and kiss for me!!
Happy New Year Brian and Wendy!
I know I'm late to this party but I've enjoyed reading your adventure.
Ian :)
I know just how you are feeling right now! It will be awsome, overwhelming, hectic, and downright scary! Then, you will go with Sydney and everything will fall right into place in the quiet of your hotel room. You will enjoy her so much!

Wow! We are all very grateful that you are sharing your amazing experiences with us. We can hardly wait to read your next posting and pictures of Sydney. It won't be long now.
We saw Sarah (Stacy and Godfrey's adopted daughter) on New Year's Eve at Knott's Berry Farm - she is delightful- outgoing, exuberant, and she ate a child's fried chicken dinner with a Snoopy ice cream bar on a stick- she commented on all the food and loved it. You are in our prayers as the moment approaches - what a wonderful time! We love you lots! (I'm not a crier like Kathie, but you know my feelings will be deep!
Love, Mom
You two and Sydney too have been in my thoughts all day. In fact, I just said to John on our way home from dinner that you must be beside yourselves right now...just a few more hours to go until you get to do the H&H&S (hold 'n hug n' smooch) with that sweet little girl. We're anxiously awaiting those first pictures of you with Sydney! Thanks so much for keeping us all in the loop. Great photos of the wall and wonderful travel log...what a treasure. Do you suppose "Bean" will be Sydney's first word in English? Nah, "Mama and Daddy" together will hold that place of honor. We're so happy for you!!! Love, Katie, John and Jimmy (and newcomer Clara Kitty too).
